The vine is the famous Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the first white wine in the region that was awarded a DOCG status, (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita), the highest classification for Italian wines.
The vineyard enjoys a hilltop location, over-looking the town of San Gimignano, a UNESCO world heritage site, famous for its medieval architecture and and its tower houses. The wine and olive oil estate

The main house and the Agriturismo
There are 6 self-contained apartments on the estate, each with kitchen and dining facilities and 15 bedrooms in total. The current owners are using two of the apartments for their private use while the remaining apartments are holiday rentals.
There is a separate building across the court yard from the apartments which is used as breakfast and dining area as well as reception area for guests. Vineyards & Olive Groves
Vernaccia is one of the finest white wines produced in Italy and the first wine in Italy to receive the DOCG classification in 1966. One of the secrets behind the high quality wines produced in the area is the sand and clay soil which has built up into layers and combined with the sloping hillsides, the vines are able to lay deep roots whilst still benefitting from excellent drainage.
There are approx. a total of 7 hectares of vineyards ( DOCG + DOC ), sloping away to the south of the wine estate. All of the land is connected directly to the main estate.
The Tuscan country estate also produces high quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The olives are harvested by hand from 3.3 hectares of Olive Groves.
The estate encompasses approx. 12 hectares of land of which 7 hectares are vineyards, 3 hectares are olive groves and the remaining 2 hectares are arable land.
